Tinashe Hits the Road With 18-Stop The Show Must Go On Tour

1h ago

Tinashe is about to spend the spring on the road. The singer has announced "The Show Must Go On," an 18-stop North American headlining tour in support of her eighth album, Popstar, with dates running from April 14, 2027, to May 15, 2027. For fans still riding the wave of a career-best chart debut, the schedule is the next big thing to plan around.

The tour kicks off April 14 at The Bomb Factory in Dallas and wraps May 15 at Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles. Austin follows on April 15 and Houston on April 16, so the first three shows all stay in Texas. From there the run moves through Kansas City, Nashville, Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Boston, Pittsburgh, Denver, Salt Lake City, Portland, Vancouver, Seattle, and Oakland. Vancouver's Malkin Bowl hosts the only Canadian stop on May 10.

The Portland date on May 8 is the one fans will have to wait on. No venue or ticket sale date has been announced yet, and that information will come later. The tour itself was announced Monday, October 19, 2026.

Ticketing begins with an artist presale on Tuesday, October 20, at 10 a.m. local time. Reports say the presale uses the code POPSTAR, and a Live Nation All Access presale follows at noon local time the same day. General on-sale opens Wednesday, October 21, at 10 a.m. local time. Coverage differs on where tickets will be sold, with some pointing to Ticketmaster and others pointing to Tinashe's official website, so fans should check her site for the latest details.

Popstar came out September 25, 2026, with 16 tracks, including "Melatonin" and "Nobody Wanna Dance Anymore." The set also features the ballad "I'd Rather Be Alone." According to reports, it debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 with 35,500 copies sold in its first week. That is her first top-10 album and her highest chart debut to date. Her previous peak came with Aquarius, which reached No. 17 in 2014.

The spring dates come after a fall run called "3 Nights With A Popstar." Those shows cover Chicago, Brooklyn, and Los Angeles, and her team says all three sold out. Brooklyn Paramount dates are listed for October 24 and 25, and a Hollywood Palladium show is set for November 7. Chicago belongs to that fall run, not the spring tour.

The album has been picking up momentum beyond its chart debut. Tinashe is also scheduled to perform at Chappell Roan's "Super Graphic Spectacular" benefit show in Los Angeles this week. Reports say fans started a #UpliftTinashe trend to promote the album, which renewed conversation about her alt-pop catalog. Standout tracks are said to include "Too Easy" and "Pillow Fight," and at least one best-of list for September 2026 included the record.

The tour also arrives two years after "Nasty" went viral, a moment tied to her 2024 breakout. Reports say Tinashe told Kaytranada in an earlier interview that she needed to build on that moment to create a lasting career. The new album and tour read as a direct answer to that goal, with a bigger catalog and a bigger stage behind it.

Her rollout has also included time with other artists. Tinashe joined Charli xcx onstage at Austin City Limits to perform "Melatonin." Harry Styles has invited her to open on his Together, Together Tour, and she is scheduled to open for him at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on April 2 and April 3, 2027. Those are the only dates listed as shared with Styles, and they land just before her own run begins.

Tinashe has also explained the thinking behind the album's title. In an interview with Zane Lowe, she said, "When I think of the word 'popstar,' I don't think of it as something that's exclusionary of other genres." The record pairs club-oriented songs with slower material, a mix she has framed as deliberate. That approach is on full display in the setlist-friendly contrast between dance tracks and the ballad "I'd Rather Be Alone."

The route matters because it mixes major markets with smaller cities across the South, the East Coast, and the West Coast, with a Canadian stop that pushes the tour north of the border. For an artist who has spent years building a following through singles and viral moments, a full headline run is a clear sign of where her fanbase is now. Her first top-10 album and a sold-out fall run give the spring dates a strong starting point.

What to watch next is straightforward. Presale opens Tuesday, the Portland venue and date are still pending, and the Dallas opener arrives in April. We will update this story when the Portland details are confirmed and when any new dates are added to the schedule.
