Cardi B Plots Second Tour Leg After $70M 'Little Miss Drama' Run

1w ago

Cardi B is ready to hit the road again, but she's making sure the numbers make sense first. The Grammy Award-winning artist is actively planning a second leg of her highly successful tour, targeting September and October, after her initial "Little Miss Drama Tour" wrapped up in April 2026.

The Bronx native recently pulled back the curtain on the financial realities of her first tour, revealing a substantial $35 million investment in production alone, which contributed to an impressive $70 million gross. She's currently weighing multiple offers from promoters, with a decision expected within the next two weeks.

The "Little Miss Drama Tour" wasn't just a series of concerts; it was a historic moment. Kicking off on February 11, 2026, in Palm Desert, California, and concluding on April 18, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia, this marked Cardi B's first full headlining arena tour in six years. The tour, which supported her second studio album, "Am I the Drama?" released in September 2025, encompassed 35 shows across North America. It sold 453,000 tickets at an average price of $159 per seat, generating over $70 million in revenue.

This monumental achievement solidified its place as the highest-grossing debut arena tour by a female rapper in history. Cardi B also broke new ground by becoming the first female rapper to sell out two consecutive nights at both the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, and Madison Square Garden in New York City. Her performances at Madison Square Garden alone reportedly grossed more than $5.3 million across two shows, a first for a female rapper at a single venue.

The tour's elaborate production was a spectacle to behold, featuring a 37-song setlist, six wardrobe changes, and intricate stage elements. Audiences witnessed floating platforms, dazzling pyrotechnics, a stripper pole carousel, and even a sparkling silver robot suit, with Cardi B at times suspended above the crowd. Notably, the tour featured no opening acts, with Cardi B's star power alone filling venues. Throughout the run, she brought out a roster of special guests, including GloRilla, Kehlani, Tyla, Blueface, Rob49, Megan Thee Stallion, Kash Doll, Cash Cobain, Lil' Kim, Natalie Nunn, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Missy Elliott, T.I., Jeezy, Mariah the Scientist, and Ludacris.

Cardi B has been remarkably transparent about the financial mechanics of touring, directly addressing public speculation about her earnings. She clarified that the $70 million gross did not equate to her personal profit. She detailed that a $20 million advance from Live Nation was subject to cuts for her agency, which took 10%, and her management, which received 5%. The massive production costs alone reached $35 million, requiring her to invest a significant portion of her own money to bring her ambitious vision to life. The tour's operation involved approximately 26 buses and around 25 dedicated crew members.

Beyond the upfront production, additional expenses mounted, including hefty venue penalties for running late, which could be as much as $40,000 to $50,000 per incident. There were also costs for repairs and flying various crews. She defended her decisions to take on after-party appearances and endorsement deals, stating, "I do not say no to a bag. Well, you're not going to clearly take every bag, but one thing I learned about being pregnant with Blossom, I had like all these endorsement deals coming up and when they found out that I was pregnant with Blossom, people took back their endorsement deals." She further emphasized her business philosophy, explaining, "If you're going to say no to a bag, that's on you. But I'm not going to say no to a bag," citing her commitment to supporting her four children and extended family.

Her strategic approach to touring isn't new. In December 2024, Cardi B reportedly turned down a $65 million touring offer that included $1.1 million per show and $1.5 million for festival appearances. She held off on accepting tour deals until her album's release, stating at the time, "I'm not taking tour deals until I announce my album because once I do, I know those offers will go up. You have to move smart. You can't act hungry when you're not." As rehearsals for the "Little Miss Drama Tour" began in January 2026, she disclosed that the budget was already "over by a couple of million dollars," and she might have to personally fund the difference to deliver the show she envisioned. She famously remarked, "I ain't no damn Beyoncé, so don't be expecting any of that. I don't got that production money, but b—h, I'm gonna give it all I got." Towards the end of the tour, there were reports that Cardi B threatened to cancel her final show at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, alleging that the venue's employees were "disrespectful" to her team.

Cardi B's candidness about the financial intricacies of large-scale tours offers a rare glimpse into the business side of a superstar's career. Her ability to command such high gross revenues while also being transparent about the significant costs involved challenges common perceptions of celebrity wealth. It also underscores her sharp business acumen and her strategic vision for her career, ensuring she maximizes her earning potential while delivering top-tier entertainment.

As she looks to the next chapter, Cardi B is not only focused on securing the best financial terms but also on her personal well-being. She expressed a desire for time off in November, December, and January, and is currently dealing with neck pain from the tour, actively seeking the best specialist in America for her recovery. The rap mogul continues to navigate the demanding landscape of the music industry, balancing ambitious career moves with a clear focus on her health and family.
