Ben Stiller to Lead New Apple TV+ Comedy 'Protective Custody'

Ben Stiller is stepping back into a leading comedy role, but with a twist. The acclaimed actor and director, known recently for his work behind the camera on the hit drama "Severance," is set to star in a new Apple TV+ series titled "Protective Custody," portraying a disgraced financier accused of massive fraud.

The news broke on May 22, 2026, revealing Apple TV+'s continued push into the comedy genre with this high-profile project. "Protective Custody" will see Stiller take on the role of a man navigating the complexities of prison life, attempting to salvage his reputation and confront the repercussions of his alleged actions while awaiting trial. He is also set to star in and executive produce the limited series "The Off Weeks" alongside Jessica Chastain.
